-Make a list of things you use regularly and what their original price at your local store is (this will help you figure out what the rock bottom price is for that item!)
-Find coupons (more on this later!)
-Organize your coupons in a way that YOU can keep track of them (no one else will be using your coupons so find a way that works for you, if your coupons aren't organized they are almost useless to you!)
-Start small so you don't feel overwhelmed
-If possible try not to be brand picky (NOT possible for all, myself included as I have very bad allergies that make some brands a no-go!)
-Clear a space where you can clip, sort and organize your coupons
-Get a good pair of scissors (can't clip with a dull pair!) or even a paper cutter if you have one!
-Print the coupon policies for the stores you shop at (I keep mine with my coupons in case a cashier questions your use of coupons)
-Be patient as it can take awhile to really get the hang of it!
-Most important DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK SOMEONE ELSE FOR HELP!!
That last one has to be the the most important tip and the one that I use VERY frequently!!! There is always someone out there who has been doing it longer and is more proficient, find that person and ask questions. Most couponers are happy to share their tips with you in order to help you start to save! Couponing can be a huge high when you score a great deal! Who wouldn't want to share that?!?
