Trying to get back into the swing of things!!

As many of you know my son had a badly broken femur and was in a very large cast for an extended period of time. Which basically put everything other than taking care of him on the back burner. He's now cast free and has been for a few weeks and we are readjusting yet again! He's making progress, albeit slow, towards relearning how to stand and walk! I sort of forgot what it's like to have a child who is mobile!!! Thank you to everyone and everyone who said prayers and thought happy thoughts for us it means more to me than many of you will ever know!

Now that I've said all this im hoping to jump right back in to blogging and deal finding!!! My brain is finally able to focus and im more than  ready to get back to doing bigger deals than I've been able to!

This past friday was my first big shopping trip with coupons since Dylans injury, it was also his first trip out to a store since being cast free!!! We scored some great deals and he did amazing on his first trip back out in the real world!

Shaws was having a great sale where if you bought ten (select) general mills products you instantly saved  $5. Knowing that a few weeks back general mills put out there own insert I knew this was going to be a great opportunity for me to stack coupons with the instant savings! We ended up with 70 items that came home with us for a total of right around $48.50!!! Not all items were part of the instant savings deal nor did I have coupons for every item, I even had to improvise twice during the trip due to no stock on one item and them not carrying another item but considering that our total before sales and coupons was a little over  $199 to only pay a little over  $48 was amazing! Since I had my fiance with me we were able to do two separate transactions to maximize our savings as I had two  $5/25 coupons from Shaws email club.
